When consolidating any given number of servers running Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003, you will need to run the ADMT on Windows Server 2008, and thus you will be forced to use version 3.1 (or 31 depending on documentation). It is the only version of the ADMT that is compatible with Windows Server 2008.

  2. A. Whenever you need to establish a trust that will both share resources and provide connectivity between two different forests, a forest trust will need to be established. By making this trust transitive, you will ensure that there are no communication problems between any of the other domains and will make everything function much more smoothly, given the requirements of the question.
