3.1. Server-Monitoring Tools

When monitoring the performance of servers, you have two primary tools available: Reliability and Performance Monitor and Event Viewer. You can use both tools to monitor what's happening on the local server or configure them to monitor remote servers.

Reliability and Performance Monitor

The Reliability and Performance Monitor is similar to the Reliability and Performance tool available in Windows Vista. An administrator can use it to quickly view what is happening on a server in real time or configure it to capture data over a period of time.
