You can also implement security at the network level. The three primary network security elements discussed in this section are as follows:

Firewalls

Used to protect the network from Internet attacks and internal clients from emerging threats (such as viruses or worms released internally).

Remote access

When providing access to your internal network from an external network (such as the Internet), you need to implement security measures to protect your network. This includes using Network Policy Access Services to ensure the health of remote clients and deciding which tunneling protocol to use with VPNs (PPTP, L2TP, or SSTP).
