You will need to migrate legacy Exchange features from Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange Server 2007 to preserve data and functionality for end users, to provide support for clients older than Outlook 2007, and to ensure interoperability during your migration to Exchange Server 2007. The primary legacy features you need to be concerned with are Exchange Server 2003 system folders, public folders, offline address books, and the Exchange Server 2003 Recipient Update Service.
