Skill 46 Know the Characteristics of Quadrilaterals
The prefix quad- means “four,” so quadrilaterals are four-sided figures. ASVAB geometry questions frequently involve quadrilaterals and their characteristics, so you want to be familiar with them beforehand.
All quadrilaterals have four sides and four interior angles. The four interior angles always add up to 360°.
Squares. Perhaps the most common quadrilateral is the square. In a square, all four sides are equal in length, and each of the four angles is equal in measure. So if the total measure of all four angles is 360°, each angle must measure exactly 90°. If one side of a square is length x, then each of the other three sides is also length x.
