It is said that to be a competent reader, you need to understand 50,000 to 75,000 words. These are words you learn over time both in and out of school. They are words you pick up as you read a variety of books, magazines, documents, and publications.

There is no predicting what words you will be asked to know on the ASVAB. The best approach is to add many words to your vocabulary. This will not only help you on the test, but it will also make understanding your training manuals and instructors much easier.
