Project: Adding Motion Blur

Despite the movement of the camera and the ambulance, there is no motion blur within the scene. To activate motion blur, follow these steps:

1. Open the Render Settings window. In the Maya Software tab, expand the Motion Blur section and select the Motion Blur check box. Render a test.
2. By default, Maya Software uses the 3D motion blur style. You can activate 2D motion blur by selecting the 2D check box. 2D and 3D motion blur produce slightly different results (see Figure 6.25).

Note that different degrees of blur appear on various ambulance parts. Because the ambulance body is rocking and the wheels are spinning at different rates, the length of the blur trails for individual parts varies. In addition, the distance ...
