Modeling the Piston

We can begin with a normal cylinder that possesses the dimensions shown in Figure 2.1. A big difference between this and the previous approaches is that we're working here with a relatively angular cylinder, in this case one that has just 10 surfaces along its length.

Low-Polygon Modeling

When you're working with objects with such few parts, it is said that you're using low-polygon modeling, which enables us to model quickly and clearly. The Hyper NURBS will take care of the necessary complexity and the rounding-off of angular objects later on.
