In this appendix, we will give a brief overview of some toolboxes that are highly relevant to research in the neural sciences.

B.1 The Concept of Toolboxes

One of the great strengths of MATLAB® is that in addition to a large (and growing) number of general purpose functions, MathWorks also sells kits of powerful and highly optimized functions for special purposes.
