The open-loop transfer function of a unity feedback control system can be expressed in two forms:
Time constant form.
Pole–zero form.
For generalized transfer functions, these can be expressed as follows:

where Tzi (i varies from 1 to k) and Tpj (j varies from 1 to l) are the system time constants
Pole–zero form
