1.9. Summary

This chapter introduces the user to MATLAB. It can be summarized in the following points:

  • The different methods of starting and ending a MATLAB session are discussed.

  • The start menu and sub-menus of the MATLAB desktop have also been introduced.

  • The different windows in the MATLAB environment like Command Window, Command History, Workspace, Current Directory, Edit Window and Figure Window have been described.

  • The Command Window displays the command prompt ‘»’ and a cursor where commands are entered and executed instantaneously on pressing the ‘Enter’ key.
