Marci Webster-Mannison,    Melbourne Design Studios, Collingwood, VIC, Australia

Abstract

This chapter is about the integration of ecological concerns into the architectural design process of the Thurgoona Campus of Charles Sturt University over a 10-year period. Thurgoona Campus is a place where an overt articulation of ecological competence is teaching the local community about ecological ethics, and impacting on the wider systems supporting the buildings. The focus is a discussion of the practical selection and use of healthy, sustainable building materials.
