2D tracking

Using markers known as trackers to follow features on a plate as they move during the course of the shot.

3:2 pull-down

A process that takes place during digitization of footage, whereby 24 frames per second footage is recorded in a way that converts it to 30 fps footage.

35 mm equivalent

A way of expressing the focal length of a given (non-35 mm) lens that helps filmmakers understand how their lens compares to a standard 35 mm format such as full ap.

Academy format

A 35 mm film format that has extra space along one side of the film for the sound stripe.
