6.5. Summary

The PIX firewall is an excellent example of a typical enterprise-level firewall. Involving access lists, NAT rules, and URL filtering, PIX encompasses many of the common firewall functions required by today's networks. By using the PDM, you can easily (and graphically) configure your PIX firewall to provide sophisticated firewall functions, including NAT, URL filtering, and hostile code protection.
