B.8. Remote Network Access
The company provides both a dial-in modem pool and Internet-based VPN access in order to remotely connect to network resources. These are the only sanctioned methods of remote network access. Connecting a modem and a phone line to any part of the network (including desktop systems) is strictly prohibited and can be considered grounds for immediate dismissal.
Remote network access is provided on an as-needed basis. Any employee who requires remote access to network resources must have their direct supervisor submit a request form to the network operations department. The employee will then be issued the following:
A security token for accessing network resources
A list of modem pool phone numbers
