In this chapter, you learned how DNS functions and saw some DNS analysis. We saw how ARP works and went on to resolve the MAC addresses. We covered IPv4 and IPv6 headers, and saw how to take a look at some of the details within the headers, including ICMP. We also saw why ICMP is useful to us as network engineers. We covered some information on how traceroute works, and the headers in it, as well.
In Chapter 7, Network Protocol Analysis, we'll start diving more into analysis and taking a look at some additional protocols and applications.
