13.4. Site Template Management with STSADM.EXE

In Chapter 8, "Site Collections and Web Applications," you learned how to import and export site templates for use within a site or site collection. However, what should you do if you need to make a template available to all site collections within the server farm? If you wanted to, you could add it for each site collection via the GUI tools. However, using STSADM.EXE might be a little more efficient in this instance, because there is no means to do this as a single operation within the WSS Site Settings pages.

Within STSADM.EXE, there are three primary operations that deal with templates:

• Enumtemplates

• Addtemplate

• Deletetemplate
