The ability to search for content within your SharePoint installation is one of the most important tools for the end users who will be accessing the sites and libraries on a daily basis.

Microsoft has made some pretty drastic changes to the search service in WSS 3.0. However, most of the changes are kind of "under the hood," so they are not obvious.
