14.4. Post-Update Steps: Testing for success

Just because you made it through the mechanical stages of a migration doesn't mean you are finished or safe. Give yourself a pat on the back for handling it as well as you have, but now it's the time to see just how well you really did.

In the carpentry world, the adage is "Measure twice, cut once." In the IT world, it should be "Test, test, test, and test again." All of your servers are up, running, and kicking out pages. At the beginning of all of this process, you probably got together with users and managers and planned exactly what it would look like if this migration was successful.
