12.2. IIS Logs

By default, IIS keeps logs for all IIS Web Sites, which means it keeps logs for each web application. These logs keep approximately the same information as the SharePoint Usage Analysis does (another means to monitor your sites and site collections, by the way). However, you can have more control over what the IIS log does and does not track and more control over how you look at it. To see what the IIS logs are for each web application, just follow these steps:

  1. Open the IIS console on the SharePoint server by choosing Start Administrative Tools Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
