12.3. Event Viewer
The Event Viewer is another important tool in your arsenal. This console can be used in conjunction with the Performance Monitor to see what events SharePoint is reporting in the system's event logs. If you get any extreme readings in the log files, or alerts for unacceptable thresholds, the next place you should go is Event Viewer to see if there are any error events that may shed light on how these log anomalies are affecting SharePoint.
