Permissions needed to back up a GPO

In order to backup GPOs, you need sufficient rights to open and view the information inside GPMC. Additionally, you will need read permissions on each GPO that you want to back up. Typically, those who are backing up GPOs are already running in the context of a Domain Admin, because that enables you to do anything inside Group Policy but in the event that you wanted to delegate away the task of backups, it is important to know the necessary permissions.
