The Common tab

Many Preference settings include a tab called Common, which contains a set of options that are common between all of the preferences that have this tab. You can see in the following screenshot that I have chosen to create a New Power Plan, which is a grouping of preference settings that modify the power options within Windows. Aside from all of the actual power-related settings that exist inside the Advanced settings tab (the default screen shown to me when I create a new power plan), there is a second tab at the top called Common. Clicking on that tab shows me the five common options available here:
