Using application groups

An application group is a logical grouping of like-functionality objects grouped by tier that represent a business application or service.

Application groups have the following business benefits:

  • Application-centric performance
  • Visual correlation of impact
  • IT socialization via application health

Application groups also have technical benefits, which are as follows:

  • Application resources are monitored across IT domains
  • The integration of disparate IT data or sources
