10.5. Exploring VMotion

I've defined the VMware VMotion feature as the ability to perform a live migration of a virtual machine from one ESX/ESXi host to another without service interruption. This is a no-downtime operation; the end users do not know and are not aware that the virtual machine has been migrated between physical ESX/ESXi hosts. This is an extremely effective tool for load-balancing virtual machines across ESX/ESXi hosts.
