Installing the View Composer Server

We will start our installation of Horizon View by installing the View Composer Server. In our example lab, vCenter has already been installed, and for this book, we are going to use the vCenter appliance. As a result of this, we will need to install View Composer on a dedicated Windows Server as it's a Windows-based application.

In the following screenshot, you can see that we have already deployed a virtual machine from our template to meet the requirements for View Composer. Our virtual machine has been configured with an 8-GB RAM, 4 vCPUs, and a 60-GB hard disk. This machine has been given a static IP address and has been added to the AD domain:
