6.4. Migrating Virtual Machines from Virtual Server to Hyper-V
Virtual Machine Manager makes it very easy to migrate from an older virtualization platform like Virtual Server to Hyper-V. This process is also called V2V conversion, which stands for Virtual-to-Virtual conversion. VMM will only allow you to migrate a virtual machine residing on Virtual Server to the Hyper-V virtualization platform. The only prerequisite for the migration is that the latest additions are installed inside the VM (if any additions are installed at all). This means that the VM has to have Virtual Machine Additions version 13.813 or later installed.
