CONCLUSION

Food security requires food investment. They are not contradictory goals. Due to its essential nature, food cannot be divorced from public policy and politics but investment requires profit. This chapter has aimed to describe the global supply and demand dynamics for agriculture, to provide an insight into its structure and to illustrate the different ways to invest in the sector.

Investment is required, but not a huge amount, and there are many ways in which that investment can be profitable. The opportunities in Africa, particularly, have been well explained.
