Summary
In this chapter, we demonstrated how to create a mailing service and configure it using Spring API. We also demonstrated how to send mails with attachments using MIME messages. We also demonstrated how to create a dedicated thread for sending mails using ExecutorService. We saw an example in which mail can be sent to multiple recipients, and saw an implementation of using the Velocity engine to create templates and send mails to recipients. In the last section, we demonstrated how the Spring framework supported mails can be sent using Spring AOP and threads.
In the next chapter, we will look at Spring Batch framework.
