Mixing In the Plug-Ins

For many people, mixing is the point in the process when they start reaching for special effects plug-ins, and with good reason—this is when timbre and balance problems are fixed, the creative effects get their final adjustments, and the sound of the complete work finally comes together. The distinction of what is corrective versus what is creative may not always be so clear, but in a certain sense, it isn’t too important either. Mixing is where all of the audio tracks come together to their final mono, stereo, or multichannel output format. Although, some adjustments still might need to be made to individual tracks if they are all really going to fit into that final format.
