Legacy SharePoint web services, WebDAV, and FrontPage Server Extensions

While legacy web services are beyond the scope of this book, they are worth mentioning because there are still rare cases in which connecting to these services is the only available option to perform certain tasks in SharePoint. Many of these services have existed since Windows SharePoint Server 2.0 (circa 2003), SharePoint Portal Server (2001), or even earlier.
