Manager access

Firstly, a well-maintained set of metadata about employees can prevent this from ever becoming a necessity in the first place, because, by default, if an employee has a manager defined in their Office 365 profile, their manager will be given rights to their OneDrive once they are deleted. On the other hand, even if your organization is careful about maintaining such metadata, you may not want to delete the employee's record at all—simply disable and block it—and if not, then the automated process that will transfer control to the employee's manager won't ever happen. So you may need to take control manually anyway.
