Chapter 10. Configuring Hardware and Printers

Getting hardware up and running in today's operating systems is not usually a problem. With Plug and Play technology, the initial installation and configuration will typically go smoothly. However, most of the time the software controlling the hardware (drivers) will need to be updated over time and might have to be rolled back in case of an issue in a new package. There will also be times when the drivers need to be installed manually for legacy hardware. You might also have to verify hardware configuration and make adjustments. The utility provided to perform these functions is Device Manager.
