The central focus point of all Windows Server products since Windows 2000 has been the administration and implementation of Microsoft Windows Active Directory technology. Active Directory (AD) is a system of network resource management that controls the use of all objects within a Microsoft Windows network, including users, computers, servers, printers, and any major resource in a Windows network. Within a Windows network, any change to a Microsoft-centric resource is made through Active Directory and replicated to different parts of the Microsoft environment.
