11.3. Connecting from a Remote Client

In order to test our newly configured RD Session Host, we should attempt to log in from a remote client. First we need to add a test user named John Doe to ADDS. Add him as a standard user with a logon name of jdoe. Once he is set up in ADDS, add him to the RDS Users group we created earlier. That's all there is to it. Bear in mind that this user has no administrative privileges anywhere.

From any client, launch the Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) program. On Microsoft Windows Vista and newer, you can click the Start icon, type mstsc, and press the Enter key.
