An Exchange server—any version—requires more than just sticking in the installation DVD, clicking Next, Next, Next, Finish, and then walking away. This does not mean that, after initial configuration, you have to fiddle with settings on a day-to-day basis. On the contrary: once initial configuration is complete, outside of recipient management you will likely not have to often make many configuration changes to your Exchange application.
