Chapter 12. Exchange Server 2010 Requirements
When you get ready to start installing Exchange Server 2010, one of the things that may slow you down the most is getting to the point where you meet all the necessary prerequisites. Depending on your expertise with Exchange Server, Active Directory, and Windows Server 2008, it may take hours or even days before you are ready to install Exchange Server 2010.
Some of the things that can slow you down include operating system and Active Directory prerequisites (software versions, patches, updates) as well as having the required permissions. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Exchange, you must make sure you are at the right version and service pack for all your existing servers.
