IBM Mobley ROA (Return-on-Asset Stewardsip) Chart 1950 to 2008

IBM’s executives used the one-page chart in IBM Case Exhibit 3 on p.159 to guide IBM’s Net Profit and Asset growth between the years of 1957 and 1978.

The upper left corner of Exhibit 1 on p.146 is 1950, the starting place where Lou Mobley (mob-lee) first began serving as a coordinator of hiring thousands of engineers. Lou helped set up the Sand’s Point Executive School curriculum for Tom Watson, Jr. in 1955. He spoke often at events that CEO Watson could not attend, throughout the greater DC to Boston corridor.
