Chapter 14. V2V and P2V Migration Tools

V2V is a process in which you move VMs that are virtualized on one vendor's virtualization platform to another, whereas P2V involves moving all the data from a physical system to a virtualized infrastructure in order to gain all the flexibility and cost-saving benefits of virtualization. In this chapter, you will learn how to migrate virtual machines running on foreign hypervisors to a KVM hypervisor using a virt-v2v tool. You will also learn how to migrate physical machines to virtual machines and then run them on the cloud.
