Summary

In this chapter, you learned how to develop add-ons for JIRA. If you already have a working knowledge of Java, and have worked on Maven, then you have a good opportunity to learn add-on development for JIRA and other Atlassian tools. Whenever the existing functionality is not sufficient to serve your needs, you can always develop add-ons for JIRA. These add-ons are developed in the Java language and also utilize Apache Maven for build automation. In this chapter, we discussed how to set up the development environment and the Eclipse IDE. We also created a skeleton plugin project.
