Deploying Hyper-V Host Servers
The installation of Hyper-V starts with the installation of Windows Server 2008 R2 onto the physical server. This might sound wrong for a hypervisor. It sounds more like the process for installing a product such as Microsoft's Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 or VMware Virtual Server. As we explained in Chapter 2, enabling the Hyper-V role in the operating system will slip the hypervisor beneath it and convert the operating system into the parent partition (or host operating system).
