Why You Need a Project Plan
An all-too-common occurrence in IT is that important systems are deployed without a plan. For example, a team requests a server for a trial or demo of a product. Two months later, IT discovers that this server has gone into production without any of the required processes being implemented, such as security hardening, backup, documentation, and so on. This lack of communication and planning probably won't be unusual to too many people. It's a risk not just to IT but, more importantly, to the business.
