System Center Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) v.Next

Microsoft started to announce some details of the System Center products that will probably be launched during 2011. The next version of VMM will see some major changes, some of which have been publicly demonstrated.

This includes the ability to define a model. A model will include a number of virtual machines created from different templates that serve different roles in an application architecture. For example, there might be a number of web servers, application servers, and database servers. A certain amount of elasticity can be defined for each role in the model.
