To connect to the CARTO account using CARTOframes, an API key is required. To access it, go to the account dashboard, click on the image in the upper right, and select the Your API keys link from the drop-down menu:
The API key is a long string of text used to ensure that the scripts we will write can have access to the account and the datasets associated with it. When it is time to write scripts, copy the key text and assign it to a variable as a Python string within the script:
