The next example is a shot of “the Wave”—a famous, wind-eroded land formation in the Coyote Buttes area in Canyon Country, near the border of Arizona and Utah. This project shows how multiple RGB channels can be used to build more separation of tones and enhanced contrast and introduces a technique for reducing saturation in the shadow regions (Figure 4.50).
