B+W Tone Control

Advanced tone control starts with an understanding of B+W translations from color images. Our last example was relatively easy to convert into B+W because it was a mostly monochromatic image. There is much to be learned, however, by working with very colorful images and converting those into B+W. The following exploration is meant to develop a conceptual understanding of luminosity as separate from color, and we will later apply this to tone control in color imagery.
