Summary

Over the course of this chapter, we introduced a variety of choices of open source monitoring and logging tools for CentOS 7 servers. Then, we discussed a step-by-step tutorial on how to set up and configure Nagios and Syslog-ng logging as our logging server. We also talked about some of these tools' major features that help simplify our choice.

In the next chapter, we will have a brief introduction to a variety of virtualization technologies. Also, we will take this opportunity to give you a step-by-step tutorial on establishing a small virtual machine.
