Creating Templates and Styles

Although several drawing templates are installed with Inventor, it's recommended that before you begin to document your own designs and models, you create your own custom template or templates to best meet your needs. This is because most users need to adhere to a specific set of drafting standards dictated by their company, customer, or vendor specifications. These standards are typically derivatives of one of several international drafting standards such as ANSI, ISO, and DIN. Therefore, Inventor installs with a set of templates and drafting styles configured for the following international standards:

  • ANSI (both English and metric units)
  • BSI
  • DIN
  • GB
  • GOST
  • ISO
  • JIS
