Create a catchment object. Catchment objects are the newest object type that Civil 3D can use to determine the area and time of concentration of a site. You can create a catchment from surface, but in most cases you will use the option to create from polyline.

Master It Create a catchment for predeveloped conditions on the site.

Solution

1. Open the file Mastering Catchment Creation.dwg.

2. On the Analyze tab, choose Catchments ⇒ Create Catchment Group.

3. Name the new catchment group Predeveloped and click OK.

4. On the Analyze tab, select Catchments ⇒ Create Catchment From Object.
