Bluetooth LE devices can communicate with other Bluetooth LE devices through broadcasting or an established connection. Each of these methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. We will begin by looking at the network topology when the devices communicate by broadcasting. For the projects in this chapter, we will focus on exchanging data over established connections, but it is good to have a knowledge of how data can be exchanged by broadcasting. Therefore, we will cover it in this introduction section.
